And the meme goes on...
RULES
1. Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2. I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3. You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4. You'll include this explanation.
5. You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed

Questions from Liz:
1. Nihilism or apathy?

Lets see. Nihilism is that nothing matters, right? And apathy means that you can't be bothered (or a path to the reason why if you're a Rune-ite). So if I say I can't be bothered to answer this one as it doesn't matter, I'm being a smart arse ^_^. Normally apathy though.

2. This is a classic from Virgin Radio: Would you rather be locked in a cupboard with either a clown or a wounded badger?

Can't I lock the clown and the badger in the cupboard together with me on the outside? No? Drat. Erm.... I'll go for the clown please, as I don;t think they'd injure me. Squirt me with a flower, yes. Attack me and bite my leg, unlikely.

3. Hentai. Why, oh why, oh why? Discuss. :p

Because it's funny? Oh, and because it's also the embodiment of typical male fantasies, thus there's a strong market for it. And because it's anime/manga, you've got situations that could never conceivably happen in the real world, including magical girls, gender changing and all kinds of things along those lines. Not forgetting tentacles a-go-go, which is male phallacisms taken to an extreme. For an expanded version of this potted praecis, see my latest research paper =p

4. If you had the chance to learn only one of the following languages, which would it be: Japanese, Gaelic, Greek, Dutch?

Due to being an anime nerd, japanese. Plus it's be a cool country to go to. Gaelic sounds lovely, and greek would be cool as well. Dutch is a no-no I think though...

5. Worst film you've ever seen?

You mean aside from the recording of a nativity play i was in when I was 4? Well, there have been very few films I have hated. More often than not I manage to mock them mercilessly. However, there has been one that I intensely disliked...
Picture the scene. Mum and dad are going out for the evening and leaving my brother, sister and I at home. They've said we can go and rent a film to watch. So the three of us go to the local rental store and have a look around. I happen to find A.I., so I go over to them and suggest it. However, they've found a film called Gorgeous (and yes, that is the right link). Two to one, we rented that. And it was dire. Jackie Chan in a kung-fu rom-com? I'll let you decide what you think of that... Suffice to say that they both apologised to me afterwards...

Right, anyone for questions?

Good answers. Interestingly most people on Virgin who get the badger/clown conundrum usually pick the badger, clearly clown phobia's a big issue...

Not so sure about the Jackie Chan flick as I've not seen it. I was wondering if you were going to nominate AI because that had a pretty shoddy ending.

Can I have q's?

OK then. Hmmmmmm...

1. Dream holiday destination and why?
2. If you can only have one, Toby Maguire or David Tennant? And yes, one and one only.
3. What power do you wish you had. And this can be anything...
4. The Balrog. Flaming queen or just misunderstood? Discuss...
5. Which kids TV programme most scared you? And Dr Who doesn't count...

1. Argh. This'll be harder than Nikki's variant. I could justify all three though: Toronto, because of the scenery and the people being really open; Tokyo, for a whole new cultural experience (otaku? me? no...) and New Zealand for the scenery. Ultimately though it'd have to be New Zealand.

2. David Tennant, who then regenerates as Tobey Maguire... seriously, that's a good one. Given that I could change my mind on this at any time, probably David Tennant (smiles more and looks dead gorgeous in pinstripes)

3. Flight. Without doubt.

4. You know I'm going to think this one over carefully. Um. Probably the latter, although I'd say more misguided than misunderstood, because a creature like that, with power but minimal intelligence, can be used for any nefarious purpose and not realise what it's doing. (overthink things? me? no...)

5. Knightmare was pretty scary. The one that was like a cross between D&D and The Crystal Maze. The Taskmaster was like an evil version of Alan Rickman and seemed to enjoy it when the kids failed the tasks.

Stargate every time, love the concept far more than spaceships, plus i'ts hillareous most of the time

2. Oddest experience (and don;t you dare say any time you're with me)

That's a tricky one.. Possibly watching my gran chase of a horse with a teatowl on Piel when i was little. Failing that Walking around Oxford late at night by myself, the big squares which are sually full of tourists are dead, it gets a bit scary when theres drunk people around too though.

3. If you had a secret base, where would it be?

Behind a waterfall under a mountain. I just love waterfalls

4. mmmmmmmmmmm cake. Favourite type?

Depending on my mood either chocolate with more chocolate (mum's birthday recipie) or american style berry cheesecake *drool*

5. A pirate i was meant to be. Discuss ^_^

Trim the sails and roam the see? Monkey island rocks! I think being a pirate would be fun. Although seawater isn't much fun, ruins my hair!

Are the balrogs really unintelligent? Early Tolkien writings apparently suggest them being constructs and the later ones that they are fallen maiar. They certainly seem to have some cunning and ability to command the lesser evil races. Also they had their own power structure - evinced by the battle between Gothmog lord of the balrogs and Ecthilion of the fountain. Each slew the other in Gondolin's square of the king - discuss? Does cunning necessarily equate to bona fide intelligence though? The ability to manipulate and command requires some brain power, yes, but then again small children are capable of twisting their parents round their fingers.

On a rather more flippant note, you'd have to be a bit thick to take on Gandalf.
